Abstract:
To provide a new passive cooling device showing improved temperature performance and capable of making better use of available space.
This passive cooling device for a detector of an artificial satellite comprises a sunvisor 1; a sunvisor radiator 3 forming the bottom part of the sunvisor; an infrared deflecting device 5 provided at the bottom part of the sunvisor; and a radiator 7 forming the bottom part of the deflecting device. The sunvisor has an elliptic base part and forms a fixed angle to the axis of the cooling device. The deflecting device also has an elliptic base part in the same way. The temperature performance of the cooling device can be improved by using the whole volume available to the cooling device.
