PURPOSE: To improve improvements in durability, by setting the pressure of a safety space between double diaphragms to that lower than gas pressure at the compressive object side, and keeping each form of these diaphragms in one direction, in the case of a compressor bearing the above caption suitable for a heat pump using a metal hydride.
CONSTITUTION: A suction valve 2 and a discharge valve 3 are installed in a diaphragm head 1, and one end of this suction valve 2 is connected to the suction port 4 formed in the head 1 while the other end is interconnected to a compressing space 7 between the head 1 and a first diaphragm. And, one end of the discharge valve 3 is connected to the discharge port 5 formed in the head 1, and the other end is as well interconnected to the compressing space 7. A second diaphragm 8 is installed in the lower part of the first diaphragm 6, and a leak of gas to the outside at time of damage to the first diaphragm 6 is prevented by the second diaphragm 8. And an interspace between both these diaphragms 6 and 8 is set down to a safety space, but in this case, pressure in the space 9 should be set to that lower than negative pressure of gas to be inserted from the suction port 4.
