PURPOSE: To improve workability and to assure the operator's safety by providing the 1st lever and 2nd lever to a die height adjusting mechanism provided to the upper part of a slide and connecting both levers to respectively independent driving mechanisms.

CONSTITUTION: The 1st lever 18 is freely turnably connected to the die height adjusting mechanism 10 provided in the upper part of the slide 6. The 2nd lever 21 is grasped to the 1st lever 18. The 1st air cylinder 31 fixed to the frame 1 is coupled to the base end part of the 1st lever 18 and the air cylinder 34 provided to the frame 1 is coupled to the base part of the 2nd lever 21. The descending of the slide 6 until dies contact is executed by the 1st lever 18 by driving the 1st air cylinder 31. The press operation before the bottom dead point is carried out by the 2nd lever 21 by driving the 2nd air cylinder 34.
