To obtain diverse double faced woven fabrics comprising a right pile ground weave and a back raised ground weave which are mutually independent, capable of freely defining the weaving constitution for each weave and suitable for various uses.
This double faced woven fabric comprises the right and back two surfaces composed of mutually independent weaves. The right side is a pile weave 1 of formed piles 2 and the back side is a raised plain weave 3 subjected to raising 4. Ground warp yarns of the back raised weave 3 are entangled at a suitable interval with the right pile weave 1 and both the right and the back weaves are moderately integrated. Cotton yarns are used in the pile weave 1 and cotton non-twist yarns are used as the pile warp yarns. Cotton or wool yarns are used in the raised weave 3.
