This double link type variable compression ratio internal combustion engine includes: an upper link 3 connected to a piston 2; a lower link 7 connected to a crank shaft 9 through a crank pin 8; an upper pin 5 connecting the upper link 4 and the lower link 7 to each other; and a control link 10 connected to the lower link 7 through the control pin 11. The control link 10 is formed with a bearing hole 13 supporting the control pin 11 as a sliding bearing. Concentration of compression loads inside the bearing hole 13 is prevented by reducing the curvature of the bearing hole 13 at the load center of a tensile load influencing the bearing hole 13 by the control pin 11 to a value smaller than the curvature of other parts of the bearing hole, and a clearance for compensating a close-in is secured between the load center of the close-in pressure and the control pin 11.
