To control a suspension of an automobile by converting a regeneration mode or a double action mode as necessary in response to variation of load charged on the automobile and a road surface situation.
This suspension of the automobile has one or more cylinders for connecting an axle to a frame of the automobile, the cylinders have first and second chambers. The suspension is operated in the regeneration mode in which a flow channel is formed between the first and second chambers or the double action mode in which the first and second chambers are separated from each other and fluid flows between respective chambers and an independent accumulator. The selection of the regeneration mode and the double action mode is performed in response to a pressure level in the cylinders determined by the pressure for a current characteristic of an electric operating valve of a pressure sensor of a closed loop control system or the suspension of the loop control system, and a hydraulic system can increase or decrease the suspension as necessary with variation in the load charged on the automobile.
