Title:
DOUBLE-POLAR THREE-DIMENSIONAL ELECTRODE TYPE ELECTROLYTIC CELL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3150355
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To bring the whole of water to be treated into contact with a three-dimensional electrode by providing an engaging protruding part to either one of the entire periphery of the peripheral edge of a fixed bed type three-dimensional electrode and the entire periphery of the inner wall of an electrolytic cell main body and forming an engaging recessed part to the other one of them and engaging both of them in a close contact state.
CONSTITUTION: A mesh like current supply anode 3 and a mesh like current supply cathode 4 are provided to the interior of an electrolytic cell main body 2 having upper and lower flanges 1, 1 in the vicinity of the upper and lower ends thereof and a plurality of short columnar fixed beds 5, 5a, 5 are laminated between both electrodes 3, 4 to constitute a three- dimensional electrode. A doughnut-shape engaging recessed part 6 is formed to the entire periphery of the central part of the peripheral edge part of the central fixed bed 5a and an engaging protruding part 7 having the same shape as the engaging recessed part 6 is formed to the part corresponding to the engaging recessed part 6 of the inner wall of the electrolytic cell main body 2 to mutually engage the recessed and protruding parts 6, 7 in a close contact state. Then, four mesh like partition members 8 are held between two sets of the fixed beds 5, 5a and both current supply electrodes 3, 4. In this constitution, a liquid stream is deflected to the interior of the fixed bed 5a by the protruding part 7 to penetrate therein and electrochemical treatment is performed.
