The coated paper for ultrathin printing having <50 g/m2 basis weight is obtained by coating both sides of a sheetlike substrate with a coating liquid that comprises pigment and an adhesive as main components and has ≥70 M value defined by numerical expression 1 M=a/A+b/B+...+n/N (a-n are each a ratio (mass%) of each pigment component to the whole pigment components of the coating liquid; A-N are each an apparent particle density (g/cm3) of each pigment component) in a coating amount of ≤15 g/m2.
