The double-sided image forming device is equipped with a first paper transporting path for single-sided image forming, which is the path for feeding the paper from an unprocessed paper stock section to a processed paper stock section through an image transfer section, and a second paper transporting path is connected to the first path, turns over the single-side image processed paper and feed the paper to the image transfer section. The device is controlled such that more than one piece of paper travels simultaneously in all paper transporting paths including the first and the second paths in the double-sided image forming operation.
