PURPOSE: To reduce the size and cost of a recorder.
CONSTITUTION: A switch-back port 33 is provided on a recorder 10, while a pair of switch-back rollers 40 are provided on the switch-back port 33. One of the rollers is made retreatable. In addition, a switch-back path 34 for guiding a paper sheet with one side recorded to the switch-back rollers 40 and a re- feeding path 35 which is separated from the switch-back path 34 for guiding a switched-back paper sheet 17. A part of the paper sheet 17 with one side recorded is discharged out of the recorder 10 by the switch-back rollers 40 and switched back. At this time one of the switch-back rollers 40 is retreated and the sheet is switched back while it overlaps partially a sheet next fed. Then the sheet 17 is re-fed by the re-feeding path 35 to have the other side printed.
