The double towel cloth is produced by weaving a towel cloth 1 and a gauze cloth 2 in superposed state. Yarns having different colors are used in the same place of the fabric as two kinds of ground warps (a) and (b). Each warp (a) and (b) is used in both the towel cloth side and the gauze cloth side, a ground warp (b) is woven together with the weft B of the gauze cloth at a part containing the other ground warp (a) woven together with the weft A for the towel cloth and a ground warp (b) is woven together with the weft A of the towel cloth at a part containing the other ground warp (a) woven together with the weft B for the gauze cloth. Various patterns in addition to a linear pattern can be developed on the surface of the gauze cloth 2.
