Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the absorption action of large energy generated when a large shock force acts compatible with the absorption action of small energy generated when a small shock force acts.
SOLUTION: This double type shock absorber has a cylinder member 2 which is provided in a frame body connected with a vehicle on one side and forms a cylinder part 2e, piston bars 5a, 5b which are slidably arranged by passing through the cylinder member 2 and in which a piston 6 positioned in the cylinder part 2e forms a restriction flow passage (a) communicating both sides thereof, accompanying plates 11a, 11b which are arranged on both sides of the cylinder member 2 and are locked in accompanying plate holders 30, 31 of a vehicle on the other side, elastic bodies 10a, 10b which are sandwiched and provided between both side faces of the cylinder member 2 and each accompanying plate 11a, 11b and initial compression is given to, and a fluid which is stored in the cylinder part 2e, has flow resistance, and flows in the restriction flow passage (a). A clearance L is formed between a tip part on at least one side of the piston bars 5a, 5b and the accompanying plates 11a, 11b, the clearance L disappears after the elastic bodies 10a, 10b receive a predetermined amount of compression, and-tip parts of the piston bars 5a, 5b come into contact with the accompanying plates 11a, 11b.
