Abstract:

To provide a double window structure in which heat insulating performance can be improved.

A double window structure 10 is comprised of an outer window 16 and an inner window 18. The inner window 18 is disposed while being isolated from the outer window 16 via an air layer 20. On indoor side faces 24, 24 of two glass panes 22, 22 constituting the outer window 16 and on outdoor side faces 28, 28 of two glass panes 26, 26 constituting the inner window 18, low radiation films 30 each mainly comprised of tin oxide are provided, respectively. Thus, in comparison with a double window structure in which the low radiation films 30 are not provided, heat insulating performance is improved. Furthermore, the low radiation film 30 mainly comprised of tin oxide is unlikely to be oxidized and the mechanical durability thereof is higher in comparison with a low radiation film 80 mainly comprised of silver. Therefore, even when the low radiation films 30 are provided on indoor side faces 24 or outdoor side faces 28 opposed to the air layer 20 communicating to outside air, the low radiation films 30 are not oxidized and are not easily damaged, either.
