PURPOSE: To provide a double woven fabric suitable as various industrial materials such as cushioning materials, sound absorbing wall cloths or water absorbing mats in which the movement of contents filled in a space formed between an upper design and a lower design is suppressed by dividing the space with an intermediate design.

CONSTITUTION: An upper design 1 and a lower design 4 formed by arranging warp yarns 2 and 5 composed of filament yarn of 1000-1500 denier and weft yarns 3 and 6 at a density of 50-60 yarns per inch are connected with pile yarns 7 at a prescribed interval in the warp direction. In the process, intermediate weft yarns 8 utilizing plural trimmed selvadge yarns inserting and passing through the weft direction are woven with the pile yarns 7 transferring from either of the upper design 1 and the lower design 4 to the other at the prescribed interval. The space between both the upper and lower designs 1 and 4 is divided with the intermediate design to form the objective double woven fabric capable of suppressing the movement of various fillers. A synthetic resin film is transferred to the surface of the upper and lower designs 1 and 4 or a synthetic resin is applied to afford an airtight design. Air is fed to the space between the upper and lower designs 1 and 4 to utilize the woven fabric as an air dome wall surface.
