Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a dowel for fixing a decorative plate or the like which is formed by punching a plane plate, to prevent the dowel from exposure to the decorative surface and to be adopted to meds medisnical driving, by providing upper and lower parts with driving portion, and the intermediate part with a hammering portion.

CONSTITUTION: A planar steel material is punched by a press to form portions 1, 2 driven into a connecting member in the upper and lower parts and a hammering portion 3 in the intermediate part for constituting a dowel. The upper driven portion 1 has a projection 1a on the nearly central part. The lower driven portion 2 is formed in the central part with vertical slot 2b and in the tips of both sides with bent guides 2a, 2a. The tips of the bent guides 2a, 2a are slanted like a cutting edge such that the left and right tips are provided to have the front and back surface different from each other. A plurality of these dewels are temporarily bonded together to be suited for mechanical driving. A hammer 10 used is provided on the tip with a notch 10a fitting on the projection 1a of the driven portion 1 and on both sides with driving portions 10c.
