To provide a downlight to be installed to a ceiling in an embedded manner with an irradiation port thereof facing downward, the downlight being capable of controlling an expansion of light traveling toward a wall face provided to be nearly perpendicular to the ceiling.
The downlight 1 comprises a prism plate 10 for refracting light emitted from a light source lamp 2 toward the wall face. A plurality of first projection parts 11 that function as prism parts aligning parallel to each other to refract light are provided to extend linearly on a surface 10A, which is one of two surfaces of the prism plate 10 located in a direction of thickness thereof. On the other surface 10B of the prism plate 10, a plurality of second projection parts 12 that function as lens parts aligning parallel to each other to converge or diffuse light are provided to extend linearly in a direction intersecting the direction in which the first projection parts 11 extend.
