Abstract:

To provide a DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) differential pressure detecting method and a DPF differential pressure detecting device capable of accurately determining regeneration timing based on a PM (Particulate Matter) deposit quantity.

This method detects the differential pressure of a DPF 3 inserted into an exhaust pipe 2 of a vehicle, and detects the differential pressure of the DPF 3 by pouring air from a positive pressure pump 4 into an exhaust pipe 2 at the upstream side of the DPF 3 when the vehicle operates an exhaust brake.
