The drain pump includes a funnel-shaped housing 2 having a suction port at the lower end and a discharge port at an upper outer peripheral surface, and a rotary driven impeller 1 arranged in the housing. The impeller 1 includes a rotary shaft part 10 in the center of an inverted truncated conical cup 11. A plurality of blades 12 are installed between an inner peripheral surface of the cup and a rotary shaft part outer peripheral surface. The blades 12 are a swept wing shape of connecting its outer peripheral side over the total length in the axial direction of an inner surface of the inverted conical cup, and connecting the inner peripheral side only to the lower side of the rotary shaft part. An annular space 16 not partitioned by the blades is formed between an upper outer peripheral surface of the rotary shaft part and the upper inner periphery of the blades and the cup.
