Title:
DRAIN RECOVERING DEVICE OF INTERCOOLER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0445816
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance the efficiency of recovering drains and to reduce the area of a demister by rotating a fan designed to build the demister into its axial central part and removing the drains stuck to the demister by centrifugal force.

CONSTITUTION: The demister 2 is built in the central axial part of the fan 3 and is rotated integrally with the fan 3. The air discharged from the intercooler 1 flow to the peripheral edge part of an IC (intercooler) header 4 and while the air is shielded by the IC header 4 and an air guide 5, the air is force fed to the position opposite from the inflow side and flows down the IC header 4, thereby flowing into the demister 2. The centrifugally recovered drains are blown off to the outer periphery in the demister 2 and the air and the drains are efficiently separated. Since the wind flows in the form of being packed in the outer peripheral part of the fan 3, the torque sufficient for rotating the fan 3 is obtd. Since the demister 2 is built into the fan 3, the inertia moment is decreased and the good balance of rotation is obtd. In addition, the designing of this device in a manner as to allow the efficient utilization of the space is possible.
