Abstract:
To provide a drainage pump that can easily and reliably drain foreign matter by stopping a motor or reversely rotating the motor when the foreign matter is sucked into the drainage pump, and to provide a method of controlling the drainage pump.
A drainage pump comprises at least: a three-phase DC motor in which a rotor is constituted of a 2i-pole magnet and a stator is constituted of a three-phase coil; a motor driver for drive-controlling the DC motor; and a detection mechanism for detecting a drive state of the three-phase DC motor. When the detection mechanism detects a constrained state of the motor caused by the caught-in of foreign matter, the motor is stopped for a certain time or reversely rotated.
