To provide a draining device for steel plates having sufficient draining performance, enabling stable carrying of steel plates and allowing space saving.

The draining device 10 for steel plates includes plate-like draining rubbers 14 arranged in an crossing way with their back surface directed in the carrying direction for a steel plate 11 so as to remove water 13 on the upper surface 12 of the steel plate 11. The upper part of the draining rubber 14 is hung from and fixed to a suspension member 21 arranged so as for the draining rubber 14 to be vertically movable. The lower end of the draining rubber 14 has a back-surface corner 25a in the downstream in the carrying direction for the steel plate 11, and the ratio D/H of the length D of the protrusion of the draining rubber 14 from the position of the top of the upper surface of the steel plate 11 to the position HBof the lower end of the steel plate 11 to the free length H of the draining rubber 14 from the position HTof the base of the suspension member 21 where the draining rubber 14 is attached to the position HBof the lower end of the steel plate 11 is set to be ≥0.1 to ≤0.38 so that when the draining rubber 14 falls along the suspension member 21 and is pressed toward the upper surface 12 of the steel plate 11, the lower part 26 of the draining rubber 14 is bent and the lowermost corner 27 comes into contact with the steel plate 11.
