To provide a preventive device to prevent drawers from coming off when the chest of drawers failed down in case of earthquakes, concurrently avoid derivative disasters caused by coming-out articles or pulled-out drawers as the device is made to support the chest of drawers itself so that it hardly falls down.
A hollow is made on the top of side board of a drawer 3, onward the chest of drawers. A stopper 19 is put onto a side bar 17 and the ceiling board which are opposit to the top edge of the drawer 3 and also located forwarder than the hollow on the drawer when it's pushed back. Inside the hollow on the drawer 3 is hung on a seesaw part 8 which is to catch the stopper 19 when it's inclined. Onto the edge of the seesaw part 8 is put a weight holder 9 to receive a weight 16 of which movement is to constantly keep the balance of the seesaw part 8 so as not catch the stopper 19 on one hand, and sometimes give force to turn it on so as to catch the stopper 19 on the other hand. The weight 16 is put into the hollow on the drawer 3 in the manner that it can roll down onto the weight holder 9 by its own movement when the drawer 3 is inclined.
