PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for easily loading a recording paper sheet, reducing the number of part items and improving positioning accuracy of a thermal head and a platen roller in a thermal printer having a drawer type paper holder.
SOLUTION: This thermal printer is composed of a first frame 1 for rotatably supporting the thermal head so as to bring the recording paper sheet 8 into pressure contact with the platen roller 4 by an energizing member 5 and a second frame 2 for journaling the platen roller 4, horizontally opening and closing to the first frame 1 and housing a recording roll paper sheet 8a, and has a structure for guiding a first cam 3a arranged on the thermal head 3 to a second cam 2c formed in the second frame 2 while being energized by the energizing member 5 and positioning the platen roller 4 journaled to the second frame 2 on the thermal head 3.
