PURPOSE: To make a pattern paper for a duplicate simultaneously with the cutting of a breathable sheet such as a fabric.

CONSTITUTION: A breathable sheet 18 such as a fabric is placed on a vacuum table 4 of an automatic drawing instrument, a breathable duplicating sheet 21 is placed on said breathable sheet, and a non-breathable or semi-breathable pattern paper sheet 20 having a thickness suitable for a pattern paper is further placed on said duplicating sheet 21. A suction force on the vacuum table 4 works on the pattern paper sheet 20, and this pattern paper sheet 20 and the duplicating sheet 21 placed thereunder as well as the breathable sheet 18 are fixed on the vacuum table 4 by the suction force. In this fixed state, a tip of a pen 16 of the automatic drawing instrument is pressed against the pattern paper sheet 20 and, according to the movement of the pen 16, a predetermined pattern is drawn on the breathable sheet 18 by transfer. At the same time, the breathable sheet 18 is cut to a predetermined pattern of the pattern paper by a cutter pen 14 of the automatic drawing instrument together with the pattern paper sheet 20 and the duplicating sheet 21.
