PURPOSE: To form a lug-flanged cylindrical work which scarcely generates strain and camber, by drawing a platelike blank having plural projecting parts on the circumferential edge, forming a lug-flanged cylindrical work, and thereafter, removing a part of the projecting part.
CONSTITUTION: A platelike blank 1 having, for instance, eight projecting parts on the circumferential edge is prepared, is drawn by a working machine, and a cylindrical work 2 provided with a lug-flange 2a whose lug consists of eight projecting parts is formed. Subsequently, its lug-flange 2a is trimmed as shown by alternate long and short dash lines (i), four parts out of the eight projecting parts are removed, and a cylindrical work 3 provided with a lug-flange 3a whose lug consists of four projecting parts is formed. The generation of strain and camber after trimming can be reduced by this process.
