PURPOSE: To manufacture a plated wire of high quality at high productivity by drawing after plating the connecting part of a plated wire with another plated wire when drawing a plated wire.

CONSTITUTION: When making a plated thin wire by drawing a plated wire 10 made by forming a plated layer 10b on a wire rod 10a by using a drawing machine, another plated wire 10 is connected to the end of a plated wire 10 by butt welding before drawing of the plated wire 10 is nearly completed. As the plated layer 10b of the connected part 11 is peeled off by this connection, the plated wire 10 is drawn continuously after plating the connected part 11 by passing through a plating tank.
