Title:
DRIFT-COMPENSATED ION SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2016121992
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion sensor that is highly sensitive, accurate, and stable even when a reference voltage of a reference electrode drifts due to change in concentration of reference ions.SOLUTION: An ion sensor 300 for sensing ion concentration in a bulk solution includes a reference electrode 310 immersed in a reference electrolyte solution 340, and a first ion-selective electrode 320. The ion sensor 300 also includes a second electrode 330 sensitive to a reference ion or to an ion different from the ion to be measured, the second electrode 330 being configured to be in direct contact with the bulk solution when the ion sensor 300 is immersed in the bulk solution. Potential difference Vbetween the first electrode and the reference electrode is a measure of ion concentration in the bulk solution and is corrected for drift of the reference electrode 310 using potential difference Vbetween the second electrode and the reference electrode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
