Abstract:
To facilitate drilling and to improve the accuracy of drilled hole diameter by reducing the load at drilling and by realizing easy removal of swarf.
At grinding a twist drill, the first flank of the drill is positioned at the upper part from the center of a flat grindstone and the twist drill is ground with the standard clearance angle of around 10 degrees. The second flank is formed by the cam forming process that the web part of the drill is also edged by thinning to provide the chisel part with a curved surface.
