Abstract:
To provide a drill screw capable of preventing chips from biting into a gap between a cut hole and a screw shaft part screwed into the cut hole, to perform screwing-in work smoothly.SOLUTION: A drill screw 1 is configured such that a drill part 3 is provided with a drill groove 7 along a lengthwise direction, and an edge portion of an outer edge positioned at the rear of the drill groove 7 in a screwing-in rotational direction serves as a cutting blade 7b. At an end part on a head part 4 side of the drill groove 7, a projection part 8 for closing is provided so as to project in a circumferential direction from an end part of the cutting blade 7b toward the drill groove 7 so that an outer surface of the projection part takes on an arc shape being extension of an outer diameter surface of the drill part. Between an inner surface of the projection part 8 for closing and a bottom part of the drill groove 7, a space 9 is formed for accumulating chips.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
