Title:
DRILL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0487719
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a reamer which is adequate for drilling a hole an any hard material and easily manufactured by forming the cross section perpendicular to the shaft of the outer peripheral blade section in the shape of a polygon which has three angles or more, and providing chamfer blade or bottom blade on outer periphery continuously.

CONSTITUTION: In a finishing hole reamer the cross section perpendicular to the shaft of the outer peripheral lade section is formed in a polygon which has three angles or more, and a chamfer blade 13 or a bottom blade 14 is provided on outer peripheral blade continuously. Margin which is a value of 5% or less for the outer peripheral dimension is provided on an outer peripheral blade 12. The chamber blade 13 or bottom blade 14 whose rake angle θr is negative in relation to the rotational direction of a tool is provided, and an ultra hard alloy subjected to coating is used as a tool material. Since the cross section perpendicular to the shaft is polygonal, the drill excels in tool rigidity, tool vibration can be suppressed a because it is provided with cutting blade strength owing to the unique shape of a cutting blade. It is possible to obtain excellent finish faces in a hard material, and it is also possible to obtain much more excellent finish faces by providing a margin to an outer peripheral cutting blade.
