PURPOSE: To save man power by a method in which a balance rod with a weight is connected to the other end of a pump cylinder set in a drill machine and the drill machine is vertically operated by applying pressures similar to or higher than the suction force of the pump cylinder.

CONSTITUTION: A balance rod 4 is pivotally attached through a support shaft 5 to the tower 3 of a base 2 fixed to the ground R, and a drill mechanism 11 is connected through a connecting lever 6 to one end of the rod 4. Also, a weight W similar to or higher than the suction force of a pump cylinder in the mechanism 11 is applied to the other end of the rod 4. The lever 6 connected to the rod 4 on the weight W side is vertically operated by the action of a crank 8 turning by a drive source to operate the mechanism 11 by the vertical movement of the rod 4. Operations with saved energy can thus be made.
