PURPOSE: To provide a newly invented drilling method that picks out each reference hole, having it stored in a numerically controlled machine tool after preventing any pitch difference between a fuselage shell and a master scale from occurring due to thermal expansion, and thereby drilling a hole in the fuselage shell at an accurate pitch.
CONSTITUTION: A fuselage shell of aircraft is supported by a pyrogenetic once- through resisting material on the table of a multispindle N/C machine tool, while a thermal expansion corresponding fixed end 15 and a free end 5 are installed there, and a longitudinal master scale 11 is installed in the longitudinal direction of the fuselage, making a fuselage shell fixed end is made attachable close to shell curved surface. Then, a master scale 14 is installed in a direction almost orthogonal with the longitudinal direction, and each hole position coordinate of both these master scales is airborne-measured, having it stored in the custom macro-arrangement of computer numerical control(CNC), thereby forming a software template, through which when preparations for doing 'template drilling' in the fuselage shell are completed, before drill starting, each thermal relative expansion of the longitudinal master scale and the N/C machine tool is monitored.
