Title:
DRIPPING DEVICE FOR PRODUCING METALLIC SHOT GRAIN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05105920
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily adjust the diameter of the molten metal droplet by communicating a nozzle provided to an outer cylinder with a molten metal hole through a communicating hole formed in an inner cylinder and sliding the inner cylinder.

CONSTITUTION: This dripping device is formed with an outer cylinder 11, an inner cylinder 12 inserted into the outer cylinder 11 and a nozzle 13 projectingly provided to the lower side face of the outer cylinder 11. A small hole 12c communicating with the nozzle 13 is bored in the lower side wall of the inner cylinder 12. Meanwhile, a nozzle hole 13a is furnished in the nozzle 13 and the nozzle hole 13a is communicated with a communicating hole 12a through the small hole 12c. The molten metal is passed through a molten metal hole 11a and the communicating hole 12a dripped down into cooling water through the nozzle hole 13a. The inner cylinder 12 is slightly rotated to shift the small hole 12c, hence the cross-sectional area of the molten metal passage leading to the nozzle hole 13a is reduced, the flow rate of molten metal passing through the passage is decreased, the dripping rate is diminished, and the diameter of the metallic grain is reduced.
