Abstract:
To provide a compact drive assist device which has a simple structure with a small number of parts, and which is capable of sufficiently assist drive force at low costs.SOLUTION: According to a drive assist device that is made attachable to a bicycle or the like, first chains 10a and 10b are tensioned by first gears 4a and 4b that have attachment holes, which are rotated together with cranks 5a and 5b, not offset from the center, and pedals 6a and 6b which rotate one sides by half which are the most apart from the center of the attachment holes offset from the centers of second gears 9a and 9b are operated by equal to or greater than a half turn. Hence, the operating speed of the pedals 6a and 6b are accelerated, and the rotation speed of a chain gear 13 acting on the external side at the other side closest to the center of the chain gear 13 is also accelerated. Therefore, the operating speed of the pedals 6a and 6b is further accelerated, and thus the load on feet operating the pedals 6a and 6b is reduced, accomplishing a sufficient drive assist.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
