This drive circuit for an SR motor consists of a drive circuit, wherein a series circuit constituted of a stator coil, semiconductor switches 1-4, and current sensors 13-15, 17 is connected in parallel with both poles of a battery, and commutation diodes 5-8 whose anode terminals are connected with the drain sides of the semiconductor switches 1-4 are installed, and a power feed back circuit, wherein drain terminals of the semiconductor switches 1-4 connected with a positive pole of a battery 16 via reactors, are connected in parallel with the commutation diodes 5-8, and the commutation diodes 5-8, connected in parallel with both of the poles of the battery 16, parallel capacitors and voltage sensors 11, 37, are installed. Three sets of switches for switching motor drive and battery charging are installed, a bridge type rectifying circuit constituted of the commutation diodes 5-8 and parasitic diodes of the semiconductor switches 1-4 is formed, an AC power source is rectified, and the battery is charged.
