PURPOSE: To simplify circuit constitution, and to reduce cost by conducting the excitation control and current control of a coil driving a stopping motor on the basis of a previously set signal.
CONSTITUTION: A four-phase stepping motor 11 is constituted of coils N1∼N4, the excitation of the stepping motor is controlled by tran sistors Tl∼T4, and currents thereof are controlled by transistors T5∼T6. A clock signal CK at high frequency is inputted to NOR circuits 21, 24 from an input terminal 22, and overdrive signals DS1, DS2 are inputted from input terminals 23, 25. Accordingly, since the transistors T5,T6 are turned ON by the overdrive signals and ON-OFF controlled by the clock signal at high frequency, the driving currents of the stepping motor rise up to a fixed value by the over drive signals, and subsequently are turned ON-OFF, thus holding the fixed value.
