When no acceleration is performed in a drive controller of an electric vehicle equipped with acceleration control input detecting means 5, brake operation detecting means 4 and vehicle speed detecting means 6, the vehicle speed is detected and regenerative braking is commanded when the vehicle speed is high; generation of creep torque is commanded when the vehicle speed is low; presence or absence of brake operation is detected; and if the brake operation has been performed, then motor torque command means 1b command a smaller control value for the creep torque compared to the case where the brake operation has not been performed.
