Abstract:

To provide a drive controller of a rotary electric machine which can prevent demagnetization of a permanent magnet included in the rotary electric machine, and to provide a vehicle having that drive controller.

A hybrid automobile 200 includes a drive controller of an AC motor M1(M2) having a rotor including a permanent magnet. The drive controller comprises an inverter 14(31) for driving the AC motor M1(M2), a DC power supply B, a step-up converter 12 for supplying the DC voltage from the DC power supply B to the inverter 14(31) while boosting, and a controller 30 for controlling the step-up converter 12 such that the output voltage Vm therefrom has its voltage target value by setting the voltage target value depending on the temperature of a permanent magnet. When the magnet temperature is above a predetermined temperature (T1), the controller 30 sets the voltage target value lower than that when the magnet temperature is below the temperature T1.
