Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure lubricating oil quantity at the time of stopping a vehicle, to reduce stirring loss of a gear part at the time of travelling the vehicle and to carry out oil cooling of a motor in light and compact constitution without providing an oil reservoir. SOLUTION: A drive device for an electric automobile is constituted of a motor 1, a gear part 9 to transmit rotation of a rotor shaft 2 to a wheel and cases 10, 90 storing them. The cases have a bulkhead to separate a motor chamber (m) to store the motor 1 and a gear chamber (g) to store the gear part 9, and it has an orifice 53 to communicate a lower part of the motor chamber (m) and the gear chamber (g) to each other on the bulkhead. Additionally, a supply means to supply oil of the gear chamber (g) to the motor chamber (m) in accordance with rotation of the gear part 9 is provided.
