To prolong an operation route of a rope traction drive type vehicle by an increase of driving force only without increasing a diameter of a rope by providing a pair of carrier rolls in a section in which the gripping of the rope of a rope grip machine is released to nip the rope and connecting a drive motor with one of the carrier rolls to drive the rope.
A plurality of drive rolls 21 which are arranged and make a row in a lower half part of a frame 20 and a plurality of follow-up rolls 24 which are positioned just above each drive roll 21, make a row, and are arranged in an upper half part of the frame 20 are provided in a section in which the gripping of a rope 1 of a rope grip machine is released. A rope 1 is fitted in a groove between these drive rolls 21 and the follow-up rolls 24 to nip it from above and below. A drive motor 7 is connected with the follow-up roll 24 through a gear row 27 and the drive roll 21 to drive the rope 1 pressed by the follow-up roll 24. Consequently, it is possible to prolong an operation route of a rope traction drive type vehicle by an increase of driving force only without increasing a diameter of the rope 1.
