To simplify control, reduce cost and improve control response by considering energy input and output between a battery and a power unit when demand torque of the power unit is calculated with corresponding to drive force demand from a driver.
Demand output Pv expressed in energy unit system common to an engine, a motor and the battery is determined with using a function f1 or a function f2 according to a condition of accelerator opening ACCRT and vehicle speed SPD (S4, S5). Demand torque Pt of a power unit P/U is calculated by multiplying torque converter torque ratio and demand turbine torque Tt calculated by dividing demand output Ph of whole vehicle adding power generation demand output PG to demand output Pv by correction turbine speed NTD together (S13). Consequently, control is simplified with considering energy input and output between the battery and the power unit to reduce cost and improve control response.
