The drive force control device for the vehicle has the power source and a power transmission mechanism, and suppresses the rotating speed change in the power source to an operation quantity when the operation quantity of drive force request operation for requiring a drive force falls within a predetermined change width range, and has an operation quantity holding means (Step S10) for holding an operation quantity when the operation quantity of the drive force request operation turns to reduction from an increase or to an increase from the reduction, and a change width calculating means (Step S5 and Step S6) for calculating a change width for suppressing the rotating speed change in the power source to the operation quantity of the drive force request operation with an operation quantity held before by one time as a reference. When the operation quantity of the drive force request operation falls within a change width range, the held operation quantity is outputted to the power source or the power transmission mechanism (Step S11).
