The drive force control device of a vehicle includes: a drive source which can transmit torque to a drive wheel; a range selecting means which selects the shift range; a range indicating means which indicates the shift range selected by the range selecting means; a range indication determining means which determines whether the selected shift range and the indicated shift range are consistent or not; and a drive force control means. The drive force control means inhibits torque transmission from the drive source to the drive wheel when it is determined that the selected shift range and the indicated shift range are not consistent.
