Abstract:

To reduce cranking sound of a drive plate generated at engine start.

A press fit margin 30 for use when press-fitting a plate part 1a in a ring gear 1b is provided by forming the outer peripheral diameter of the plate part 1a slightly larger than the inner peripheral diameter of the ring gear 1b, the plate part 1a is press-fitted in the ring gear 1b to a position where the end of a rim 24 coincides with a side surface of the ring gear 1b, and the plate part 1a and the ring gear 1b are welded 6 at a plurality of welds 6. When engine starts, although torque is transmitted to the ring gear 1b from a starter motor and the ring gear 1 vibrates, an inner peripheral portion of the ring gear 1b and an outer peripheral portion of the plate part 1a rub with each other and vibration caused in the ring gear 1b is damped.
