To provide a drive recorder apparatus and a drive recorder system capable of supporting the driver and crew of a vehicle when an accident or a crime occurs.

The drive recorder apparatus includes: a video reception means 11 for receiving video frames successively output from an imaging apparatus 20 loaded on a vehicle 1; a memory 12 for storing the video frames received by the video reception means 11 for a fixed period; a video recording means 13 for successively updating the oldest video frame of the video frames of the fixed period stored in the memory 12 to the latest video frame and recording it in the memory 12; a detection signal reception means 16 for receiving detection signals generated by a prescribed trigger; and a control means 17 for making a transmitter 50 transmit the video frames to a specified destination successively from the video frame in a fixed period before the point of time of the latest video frame stored in the memory 12 when the detection signals are received.
