To provide a drive recorder for accurately recognizing occurrence of an accident and storing image information during the accident.

The drive recorder D includes: a camera 2 installed in a vehicle; an acceleration sensor 3 which detects at least two longitudinal and lateral axial accelerations of the vehicle; and a storage means for storing images taken by the camera 2 and the accelerations detected by the acceleration sensor 3. When a condition that an acceleration obtained by offset of an initial value from the acceleration detected by the acceleration sensor 3 exceeds a predetermined threshold or the acceleration obtained by the offset exceeds the predetermined threshold for a fixed time is established, the imaging is performed for a predetermined time, and a file including the time when the condition is established and image information taken within the predetermined time is generated and stored in the storage means.
