Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive shaft capable of suppressing contact between mountain parts which form ridges outside of a boot.SOLUTION: A drive shaft 1 includes: an intermediate shaft 11; a velocity universal joint 13 mounted on an end part 12 of the intermediate shaft 11; and a boot 14 provided striding over the intermediate shaft 11 and the velocity universal joint 13, and for surrounding and covering between the intermediate shaft 11 and the velocity universal joint 13. The boot 14 has a bellows part 33 in which ridge parts 36 forming ridges toward the outside and valley parts 37 forming valleys are formed alternately between one end part mounted on the intermediate shaft 11 and the other end part mounted on the velocity universal joint 13. The intermediate shaft 11 has a swollen part 51 whose outer peripheral surface swells further radially outside than both side portions in an axial direction of corresponding portions, at the portion between the end part 12 on which the velocity universal joint 13 is mounted and the portion on which the boot 14 is mounted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
