A step 410 decides whether a flag indicating that cruising is under control is off or not; a step 420 decides whether a flag indicating an existing operation of vehicle equipment is on or not; a step 440 switches on a flag indicating that an emergency cruise control is on; a step 450 switches on the flag indicating that cruising is under control; a step 460 decides whether a brake pedal is on or not; a step 470 decides whether a vehicle is running at a speed exceeding an effective vehicle speed range or not; a step 480 decides whether the flag indicating that the emergency cruise control is on is turned on for not less than 10 seconds or not; and a step 490 switches off the flag indicating that emergency cruise control is on in order to allow the vehicle to escape from a control in an emergency state.
