Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive support device capable of precisely detecting congestion state on a road in real time.SOLUTION: A drive support device 10 includes: a detection section 1 that detects a distance K1 from a preceding vehicle 31 in a detection range; a receiving section 2 that receives road traffic information from the outside; an input section 3 to which a piece of speed information is input from a speed meter 22 of own vehicle; and a determination section 4 that, when the detection section 1 detects a distance K1, determines whether the road is congested based on the road traffic information received by the receiving section 2 and the speed information input from the input section 3. The determination section 4 is configured to determine as the road is congested when the road traffic information received by the receiving section 2 is the congestion information and when the speed information input to the input section 3 is equal to or smaller than a predetermined speed.
