To provide a drive type fixing tool to provide suitable anchor operation and a sufficient degree of fixing by a method wherein, in drive of a drive type fixing tool, spreading and the drive depth of the drive type fixing tool are automatically adjusted by utilizing high and low resistance by the material characteristics of a member to be fixed in spite of structure being simple.
A fixing part 5 is arranged on the other end side of a cylindrical body 2 having one end being opened. Splitting slots 9 and 9 are formed in the part on the tip side of the cylindrical body 2. A thin section part 10 for cracking extending linearly axially of the cylindrical body is connected to the splitting slot 9 to form a drive type fixing tool. The drive type fixing tool is driven from the tip part to a member to be fixed, and the cylindrical body 2 is spread. In the spreading, when resistance during drive exceeds a specified value, the thin section part for cracking is cracked by a given length and the degree of spread of the cylindrical body 2 is increased by an amount equivalent to the crack length.
